Tax Technical Trainer

The Human Resources Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Technical Trainer who has a strong technical skillset, is excited to collaborate and is passionate about delivering outstanding results. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for building and executing a training strategy, which includes design, development and delivery of effective training and maintaining a repository of training resources. You will collaborate with department leadership to develop learning solutions; develop, implement and maintain training tools and materials; deliver training; ensure site compliance with Tax Quality Standards and other regulations; roll-out specific site and corporate training initiatives; effectively work with onsite and remote staff.  

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain new hire technical training content for onboarding Tax staff. 
  • Conduct annual check-ins with staff within Tax to support them in their learning, identify growth/development areas and design/deliver educational opportunities accordingly based on needs. 
  • Develop and maintain a repository of learning resources, such as quick reference guides, best practices and videos for using tax technical software
  • Stay up to date on current tax technical topics and update existing training material or develop new material, as needed.
  • Stay up to date on tax law/process changes and update training materials and department staff, as needed.
  • Make recommendations for additional training opportunities based on relevant tax law changes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with department leaders to identify knowledge gaps and develop a strategy to fill the gaps.
  • Work in the current practice area and continue to manage clients and work on engagements.
  • Minimal (less than 5%) client work to maintain technical skills, awareness of internal procedures and compliance needs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years tax experience in a public accounting firm required
  • Strong presentation & facilitation skills are required, prior teaching or training experience at a national or regional firm is preferred

    • BNA
    • CaseWare
    • QuickBooks
    • CCH Axcess
    • Adobe
    • Microsoft Teams
    • CFS Payroll & Tax Tools

Technical Trainer

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with the Learning and Development Manager and Chief Information Officer to build and execute an IT technical training strategy, which includes design, development, and delivery of effective training. You will help drive employee efficiency and innovative solutions through the Office 365 application suite and other Firm applications. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Design, develop and deliver highly effective end-user training 
  • Create and maintain training presentations, handouts, and any other required training materials. 
  • Perform group and individual training sessions for end-users both in person and virtual sessions. 
  • Responsible for performing new employee technical training and other onboarding activities.
  • Responsible for administrating cybersecurity training platform.
  • Provide consultation to department leaders and employees and provide recommended solutions for filling technology skill gaps.
  • Collaborate with multiple department leaders to develop training to support new technology and process improvement events.
  • Provide vendor management for outside technical training vendors, as needed
  • Maintain IT department intranet content and learning resources
  • Assist with IT project rollouts with needs analysis, usability testing, training, and adoption tasks
  • Light development projects in PowerApps, Flow, and Forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned  

What We’re Looking For:  

  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excel at presenting, and facilitating training content 
  • Familiar with adult learning techniques 
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment 

Your Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Instructional Design, or Adult Education (or equivalent) 
  • Proven experience with IT end-user training and/or related adult education. 
  • Experience developing e-learning courses
  • Experience using e-learning software such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate
  • Most applicable certifications: Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT)
  • Must have an excellent, broad-based knowledge and proficient understanding of all Microsoft O365 cloud products

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee firmwide recruitment strategy and day-to-day efforts for experienced and campus recruitment
  • Establish and execute a defined strategic plan around recruitment, tied to strategic goals of the Firm
  • Provide recruiting insight, best practices and knowledge to team, leadership and other stakeholders to make business decisions
  • Oversee an established recruitment team on strategic goals and individual career goals/development
  • Ensure the recruiting and selection process is running effectively, including timely hiring, application processing, efficiency with screening and moving candidates through the recruitment process in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with recruitment team on strategic college recruitment goals to ensure high quality entry-level professionals are hired annually
  • Help develop new recruitment programs to meet growth goals and enhance existing programs
  • Build relationships across the Firm with all levels to understand tactical and strategic needs
  • Facilitate strategic staffing meetings to understand hiring needs leaders across the Firm, alongside the recruitment team
  • Support and assist in hiring recommendations to key leaders, including Chief Operations Officer and Chief People Officer
  • Maintain excellent relationships with candidates, internal hiring teams, external sourcing contacts and other company personnel involved in the recruiting process
  • Evaluate effectiveness of online presence of Anders Careers including, but not limited to, Twitter, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Instagram, Anders blogs and online job boards
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel, as needed
  • Present to leadership and other stakeholders recruitment statistics and metrics
  • Help in the successful facilitation of employee onboarding, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant Recruiting or Talent Acquisition experience, full-cycle recruiting experience is a requirement
  • 5+ years of talent acquisition team oversight
  • Experience in screening, sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Recruitment experience in the Accounting and/or Finance field is a plus

  • Develop and maintain a repository of learning resources, such as: quick reference guides, best practices, and videos for using audit technical software
  • Keep up to date on industry guidance and standards and serve as a subject matter expert for the Audit department
  • Make recommendations for additional training opportunities based on auditing and accounting standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with department leaders to identify knowledge gaps and develop a strategy to fill the gaps
  • Design and implement practice area efficiency processes and reevaluate for relevancy on an ongoing basis
  • Work in the current practice area and continue to manage clients and work on engagements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
