The Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Supervisor who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and is passionate about delivering outstanding results for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and conducting audits of client financial statements, assisting with the development of appropriate audit programs, assisting with performance of risk assessments and developing relationships with client companies. You will conduct audits of client company financials to ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards, determine the effectiveness of internal controls and the potential impact of internal control deficiencies, and examine records to ensure proper recording and authorization of transactions, compliance with policies and applicable laws. You will prepare detailed reports of audit findings and recommendations for client companies and prepare portions of compilation, review and audit engagements.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Primary responsibility for the completion of review and audit engagements
  • Preparation of middle market company financial statements
  • Prepare detailed reports of audit findings and recommendations for client companies
  • Assess areas of fraud risk
  • Determine the effectiveness of internal controls and the potential impact of internal control deficiencies
  • Examine records to ensure proper recording and authorization of transactions, compliance with policies and applicable laws
  • Manage client expectations and deadlines with internal deadlines
  • Train staff on engagements while in the field completing audits and reviews
  • Track the status of multiple engagements to ensure timely issuance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for planning and conducting audits of client financial statements, managing the development of appropriate audit programs, and crafting informed recommendations for clients. You have 8+ years of audit experience and bring a consultative approach to your work. You should have strong project management skills for overseeing the delivery of the firm’s audit services to clients. You will also be responsible for developing staff through talent management, so people management experience is needed. What You’ll Do:

  • Manage engagements by developing and executing team strategy, supervising staff
  • Follow engagement process through monitoring time budgets and deadlines, communicate essential developments to the engagement Partner along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations, and providing ongoing attention to client management
  • Maintain communication with clients to cultivate relationships, manage expectations and engagement status, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, controlling, and executing all phases of the firm’s regular services and engagement for those clients delegated by Partners
  • Assist clients in preparing financial statements and implementing complex accounting standards through technical expertise
  • Prepare concise and clearly written memos of your understanding of accounting standards, contracts and complex transactions on a client’s financial statements
  • Project and plan the timing of the workload to promote the most efficient operation of the staff
  • Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements and clients; keep the engagement Partner fully informed of significant decisions, engagement process, the client’s situation, and potential concerns
  • Develop a responsible professional and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as a discussion leader in professional development programs
  • Supervise preparation of the engagement letter for approval by the engagement Partner, discuss the terms of the assignment with the client, and ensure client signs and returns the engagement letter before the start of the engagement
  • Evaluate internal controls and audit programs prepared by staff, revise as necessary, and present to the engagement Partner for approval
  • Support employee development with ongoing coaching and training, recognize and handle challenging staff situations and client personnel matters, and obtain a strong interest in attracting and developing staff

Audit and Assurance Manager – Multi-Employer

The Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Manager who possesses a strong technical skillset, is motivated by quality work, and embraces a collaborative environment. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing engagement teams during the planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up stages of an audit. Your responsibilities include planning and conducting audits of plan financial statements within the Multi-Employer benefit plan industry, managing the development of appropriate audit programs, managing performance of risk assessments, reviewing workpapers, helping staff develop technical GAAP and audit skills, and developing relationships with client plans. You will prepare and review detailed reports of audit findings and recommendations for client plans.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, and controlling all phases of the firm’s regular services for Multi-Employer Benefit Plans delegated by Partners
  • Project and plan the timing of the workload to promote the most efficient operation of the staff
  • Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements and clients; keep the engagement Partner fully informed of significant decisions, engagement process, the client’s situation, and potential concerns
  • Develop a responsible and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as a discussion leader in professional development programs
  • Supervise preparation of the engagement letter for approval by the engagement Partner, discuss the terms of the assignment with the client, and ensure client signs and returns the engagement letter before the start of the engagement
  • Evaluate internal controls and audit programs prepared by staff, revise as necessary, and present to the engagement Partner for approval
  • Follow engagement process through monitoring time budgets and deadlines, communicate essential developments to the engagement Partner along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations, and providing ongoing attention to plan management
  • Support employee development with ongoing coaching and training, recognize and handle challenging staff situations and client personnel matters, and obtain a strong interest in attracting and developing staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Client service-oriented with ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Detail-oriented; strong planning and organization skills; ability to make decisions
  • Resourceful in recognizing technical problems and developing solutions
  • Awareness of current developments affecting area of expertise
  • Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and other relevant concepts
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audits
  • Ability to travel to client sites that may also require overnight travel
  • Knowledge of FASB standards, GAAP, and GAAS
  • Understanding of audit and attest service

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA Required
  • Personnel management experience required
  • Public accounting experience
  • 6+ years of audit experience preferred
  • Multi-Employer benefit plans experience required
  • Experience utilizing CaseWare and data analytic software (IDEA, Excel TeamMate, etc.)

The Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking an Intern who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. Anders winter/spring internships run January through April and will be in-person in our office in St. Louis, MO. Interested candidates should apply to ONE internship posting for 2026.

Preferred latest graduation date: December 2027

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Conduct audits of client company financials to ensure compliance with GAPP and other accounting standards
  • Assist with determining appropriate audit methodology 
  • Assist with performance of risk assessments
  • Examine records to ensure proper recording and authorization of transactions, compliance with policies, and applicable laws
  • Prepare detailed reports of audit findings and recommendations for client companies
  • Prepare portions of compilation, review, and audit engagements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:  

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Basic understanding of audit services
  • Beginning understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Your Qualifications: 

  • Must be enrolled in an accounting, finance, or related curriculum at the junior level or higher (Graduating December 2026 or earlier)  
  • Plan to pursue CPA
  • Minimum 25+ hour work week required
