Over 670 brackets were created during the 35th annual Anders Hoops for Hope March Madness-style bracket tournament supporting Missouri Veteran’s Endeavor (MOVE-STL). As the firm’s 2023 Charity of Choice, members of MOVE-STL joined Anders for a celebration luncheon where the final amount raised during Hoops for Hope was unveiled and a check for $13,010 was presented.
WHAT IS HOOPS FOR HOPE?
Hoops for Hope, the annual Anders NCAA basketball pool draws participation from Anders clients, colleagues, referral sources and friends of the firm from all over the country. Anders tax partner Craig Campbell started the pool 35 years ago and remains the organizer. He is assisted by a large contingent of Anders staff who set up the online pool, market it and count the proceeds.
This year, the top 16 bracket makers received prizes ranging from an Apple Watch to a weekend getaway at Live! by Loews and gift cards to local restaurants and breweries. Check out the 2023 Hoops for Hope prize winners and come back to the Anders website next March to participate!
ABOUT THE CHARITY OF CHOICE PROGRAM
Each January, members of the firm vote on a Charity of Choice and work throughout the year to support the organization through Pick Me Up Carts, volunteer days, a shuffleboard tournament and other fundraising events. Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL) is a community for Veterans experiencing homelessness along with their families. The organization provides a secure and sober environment that allows Veterans to live among their peers while also having access to on-site counseling services, which are available 24/7. By empowering Veterans to rediscover a sense of purpose and optimism, MOVE-STL helps them to achieve their goal of living independently.
