Anders Selects Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL) as 2023 Charity of Choice

Each year, Anders employees nominate not-for-profit organizations to be considered the firm’s Charity of Choice. After tallying the votes for 2023, our Anders Charity of Choice is Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL)!

The Charity of Choice program, which is now in its 18th year, supports the nominated organization through a combination of fundraising activities and volunteer efforts. This program is especially meaningful to Anders as every member of the firm, from interns to partners, have the opportunity to nominate and vote for the Charity of Choice each December. The winner is later revealed at our all-firm meeting. In 2022, Anders raised $36,600 for Lydia’s House, a transitional housing program that supports abused women and their children.

ABOUT Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL)

Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL) is a community for Veterans experiencing homelessness along with their families. The organization provides a secure and sober environment that allows Veterans to live among their peers while also having access to on-site counseling services, which are available 24/7. By empowering Veterans to rediscover a sense of purpose and optimism, MOVE-STL helps them to achieve their goal of living independently. Chris Schroeder, a wealth advisor with Claris Advisors and a long-time volunteer at MOVE-STL, nominated the organization.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES

While activities such as Queen of Hearts, shuffleboard tournaments, busy season games and volunteer activities are held throughout the year, the largest Anders fundraising event is our annual “Hoops for Hope” NCAA March Madness basketball pool, which draws participation from clients, colleagues, referral sources and friends of the firm from all over the country. We are looking forward to supporting MOVE-STL through this fun event.

PAST CHARITY OF CHOICE

In addition to MOVE-STL, other beneficiaries of the Anders Charity of Choice program have included Lydia’s House, The Child Advocacy Center, Partners for Pets, the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, Angels’ Arms, Shriners Hospitals for Children – St. Louis, Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Friends of Kids with Cancer, Basket of Hope, Young Friends of Habitat for Humanity, Nurses for Newborns, Girls on the Run, Lafayette Industries, KidSmart, Re-Building Together and Kids Under Twenty-One (KUTO).
