Hoops for Hope Raises $17,000 for Lydia’s House

The 34th annual Hoops for Hope tournament attracted 639 colleagues, clients and friends of the firm to support the 2022 Anders Charity of Choice, Lydia’s House. Karen Kirk and Ellie Moore of Lydia’s House joined Anders for a celebration lunch where a check for $17,000 was presented, the largest donation through Hoops for Hope yet.

Hoops for Hope, the annual Anders NCAA basketball pool draws participation from Anders clients, colleagues, referral sources and friends of the firm from all over the U.S. Anders tax partner Craig Campbell started the pool and remains the organizer. He is assisted by a large contingent of Anders staff who set up the online pool, market it and count the proceeds.

This year, the top 22 participants received prizes ranging from an Apple Watch to a weekend getaway at Live! by Loews and gift cards to local restaurants and breweries. Check out the 2021 Hoops for Hope prize winners.

Each January, members of the firm vote on a Charity of Choice and work throughout the year to support the organization through Pick Me Up Carts, volunteer days, a shuffleboard tournament and other fundraising events. Hoops for Hope is the largest of those efforts. Read more about the Anders Charity of Choice program.

Andi Emke, an administrative assistant at Anders, nominated the organization for our 2022 Charity of Choice. Donna Erbs, a partner in strategic growth, also serves on the board for Lydia’s House. Lydia’s House provides a place of healing and a voice of hope for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Lydia’s House is the only standalone transitional housing in eastern Missouri and provides advocacy and resources for its residents. Learn more about Lydia’s House.
