Congratulations to the 13 physicians who completed the second annual Physician Leadership Institute, a five-session educational program sponsored by Anders Health Care Services, The St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society (SLMMS), and Health Management Alternatives Inc. (HMAI). The Institute, which ran from mid February through late April, focused on the business aspects of medical practice, with the objective of helping doctors build their leadership and management skills.
Through sessions covering topics such as finance and revenue, practice management, risk and compliance, and operational excellence, physicians learned more about the business side of medical practice, while developing leadership skills with sessions on team-building, ethics, physicians as board members, physician-hospital relations, and the future of medicine with physicians as leaders.
With attendees representing a variety of specialties, employment arrangements, and practice locations, the classes were highly interactive with thoughtful, spirited discussions.
