Anders is proud to announce that Lesley Sanchez, CPA, Audit and Assurance partner, has been named a 2023 MOCPA Woman to Watch. The Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MOCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) have partnered to recognize and honor outstanding women in the accounting profession through the Women to Watch Awards since 2006. Honorees were selected based on their demonstrations of leadership, mentorship and support for the professional development of others, contributions to the profession, the creation and implementation of workplace improvements and community service.
About Lesley Sanchez
In 2022, Lesley made firm history as the youngest woman to be named a partner at Anders. She began her career with the firm as an audit intern in 2009 and quickly made herself indispensable to both her clients and the firm itself. Early in her career, Lesley took on leadership roles within the firm’s internal employee resource groups, the Young Professionals Group and the Women’s Initiative, to have more influence over firm policy. These internal leadership roles gave Lesley the experience she needed to assume a leadership position in the firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions group, where she helps banks navigate complex compliance requirements. Lesley was also selected to oversee the firm’s audit intern program, through which she helps recruit, onboard and empower new talent to succeed in the profession. Her leadership capabilities are recognized both inside and outside the firm, leading to her being selected to give the opening speech at the 2022 St. Louis Business Journal Women’s Conference – The Series: Lessons in Leadership.
