Dave M. Finklang, CPA/CGMA, MBA and Brent E. McClure, CPA, MBA, CEPA have been promoted to principals in the Tax Services Group at Anders.
About Dave Finklang
Dave has wide-ranging, specialized experience in tax planning and compliance, startup services and consulting, and accounting services. As the leader of the startup and entrepreneurial services practice at Anders, he particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs and emerging companies by helping them raise capital, structure their businesses, implement accounting systems, and minimize their tax burdens. Dave also advises individuals, family and closely-held businesses, as well as their owners, on tax-saving strategies and tax planning. He works with technology and software companies, manufacturers, distributors, and commercial real estate companies. Dave was named the youngest 2016 40 Under 40 by the St. Louis Business Journal. St. Louis Small Business Monthly has named him a Top Accountant as well as one of the Top 100 St. Louisans You Should Know to Succeed in Business. He was also selected for the 2013 American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Leadership Academy.
Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He holds a B.S. in Aviation Technology with a Minor in Accounting from the University of Central Missouri and an M.B.A. from Webster University. Heavily involved in the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MOCPA), Dave has participated in and lead numerous task forces for the state chapter and is the past chair of the St. Louis chapter. He is also a member of the firm’s Rainmaker Academy.
In the community, Dave is the president and a co-founder of the St. Louis Startup Ambassadors. He is the past president of the Friends of Arch Grants. He serves as a mentor for Imerman Angels and is a director of the Testicular Cancer Society. He is also on the board of St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer and the University of Central Missouri’s School of Accountancy Advisory Board. Dave also served as the past chair of the Staff Advisory Group for the Anders Young Professionals Group.
About Brent McClure
Brent joined Anders in 2015, working with high net worth individuals and small businesses on their tax, trust and business transition planning needs. His experience with helping businesses successfully transition their companies led him to developing the Business Transition Planning service line at the firm. With over 20 years of experience, he enjoys helping clients manage their financials so they can focus on the areas of business that are most important to them. Finding hidden tax credits and benefits to save clients money is something he is passionate about.
Brent is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Exit Planning Advisor and holds a Certificate in Exit Planning. He obtained a B.A. in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa, an M.B.A. from the University of Houston and an M.H.A Certificate from Des Moines University. McClure is a member of the firm’s Rainmaker Academy.
Brent is active in many local organizations, including being board president of the Hackamore Homeowner’s Association. He is the treasurer of Furry Friends Recovery, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and a member of the Long Lake Condo Association.
