Anders Honored with the 2018 Advancement of Women Award from the St. Louis Business Journal

Anders was honored with the Advancement of Women Award at the St. Louis Business Journal Best Places to Work awards breakfast today. This is the third year the St. Louis Business Journal has used Best Places to Work responses to identify one company for their impact on women in the workplace, creating opportunities for individual development and career growth for women.

Anders has long been committed to the advancement of women both inside the firm and in the community through the Anders Women’s Initiative, founded in 2007, and complemented by the Young Professionals Initiative, Anders University and the firm’s culture. As a firm, Anders makes it a priority to include women at the partner and leadership levels, provide opportunities for personal growth and career advancement, and focus on the recruitment and retention of women.

The women of Anders maintain leadership roles in prominent leadership organizations and support women’s organizations through time and sponsorships. Anders tax partner, Lorri Rippelmeyer, describes the firm’s commitment by saying, “We’ve nurtured, mentored and even catapulted women to new heights in their businesses and careers.”

This has been a monumental year for Anders and the women of the firm. On a national scale, Accounting Today named Anders a Best Accounting Firm for Women, one of 15 firms in the country. The Best Accounting Firms for Women list derived from a deep dive into responses of women at each firm from the 2017 Best Accounting Firms to Work for survey. At a local level, The Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis also honored Anders as one of six St. Louis companies to earn the Women in the Workplace: Employment Scorecard. The Employment Scorecard recognizes companies for their efforts to recruit and retain women, promote women with policies and efforts to support a diverse population, demonstrate results with women in strong leadership roles and to demonstrate engagement with the community and local nonprofits that support women.
