As of August 31, 2025, the Federal Financial Institutes Examination Council (FFIEC) will sunset the Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT). The agency’s decision not to update the CAT to reflect new government resources, such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 or the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Cybersecurity Performance Goals, will force relevant financial institutions to refer directly to those resources to align their risk management to an approach that improves security and resilience.
Join Anders Audit and Assurance principals Abe Babler, MBA, and Sarah Knox-Hansen, CPA, as well as partner and compliance and loan review practice leader Brad Stumpe, CPA, CRCM as they review the history of the CAT and discuss available, alternative frameworks. They’ll also provide insight into implementation considerations while bringing you on a deep dive into the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Get ready to learn:
- Actionable tips for transitioning to alternative cybersecurity frameworks
- The difference between CAT and updated government and industry resources
- How to prepare for examinations when examiners address areas not covered by industry or government
