Every year, Anders nominates and selects one charity to support throughout the year as the firm’s Charity of Choice. The votes are in and for 2022, our Charity of Choice is Lydia’s House! Now in its 17th year, the Charity of Choice program combines fundraising activities and volunteer efforts to support the nominated organization. Charities are submitted by members of the firm, and all members of the firm, from interns to partners, have the opportunity to vote for their choice each January. The winner is then revealed at our all-firm meeting. In 2021, Anders raised more than $28,000 for The Child Advocacy Center, a local organization that serves children in Missouri that are victims of abuse.
About Lydia’s House
Lydia’s House is the only transitional housing program in Eastern Missouri that is specifically for abused women and their children that offers immediate community. They have 50 confidentially located, fully furnished apartments where their families can find refuge, safety and support. Andi Emke, an office assistant at Anders, volunteers with Lydia’s House and nominated the organization after arranging a holiday event that collected items for families in need.
Fundraising Activities
While activities such as Pick Me Up Carts, shuffleboard tournaments, busy season games and volunteer activities are held throughout the year, the first major Anders fundraising event will be the annual “Hoops for Hope” NCAA March Madness basketball pool, which draws participation from clients, colleagues, referral sources and friends of the firm from all over the country. We are looking forward to supporting our charity through this fun event.
