Anders 2023 Community Impact Report SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
As one of our core values, generosity is a key part of Anders identity and drives how we treat clients, employees and the members of our communities. To strengthen our ties to our communities and empower employees at every level of Anders to get involved, we invest both time and resources, individually and collectively. For our eighth annual community impact report, we’re proud to showcase the generosity of our people and our dedication to giving back to the communities we love.
WHAT DOES GENEROSITY MEAN TO ANDERS?
Generosity at Anders means investing in our communities by supporting the organizations that strengthen them with our time, resources and money. We give back because we care. In 2023, Anders employees were active members of over 178 organizations while also collectively supporting 320 organizations financially and through volunteer opportunities.
It’s our deep and abiding connection to our communities that drive us to support, and in turn be supported by, numerous local charitable, civic, cultural arts and professional organizations.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES
Due to their own passion for giving back, as well as the encouragement and empowerment they receive from Anders to support what matters most to them, our employees participated in 142 charitable sponsorships in 2023 alone. As a result of so many team members leading, serving, supporting and volunteering at these organizations, Anders proudly donated over $395,344 to support the causes closest to us. That’s including our ongoing relationship with United Way, which raised almost $18,000 in 2023 alone.
With our core values in mind, particularly that of generosity, we can enact the change we want to see in our communities – through an open hand and an open heart. That’s the reason we dedicate each year to supporting one particular charity with our Charity of Choice program.
SUPPORTING OUR CHARITY OF CHOICE
-
$373510
Total Donated Through our Charity of Choice Initiative
Our Charity of Choice program supports one charity each year through a combination of fundraising activities and volunteer efforts led by our staff. This program is a particular point of pride for the firm, which determines the charity selection by an open vote each December. In the 18 years since the program originated, it has raised $373,510 for great causes.
We are forever grateful to Anders for choosing us as their Charity of Choice for 2023. Their unwavering support through donations of goods, generous financial contributions and dedicated volunteering has been a beacon of hope for MOVE and the Veterans we serve. Their commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served our country is a testament to the power of compassionate partnerships. Together, we are creating positive change and transforming the future for veterans, one act of kindness at a time.
—Bill Wallace, President/Executive Director of Missouri Veterans Endeavor
Raised in 2023
In 2023, we raised $33,510 for our Charity of Choice, Missouri Veterans Endeavor. Missouri Veterans Endeavor (MOVE-STL) is a community for Veterans experiencing homelessness and their families. MOVE-STL’s success begins with Veterans living in a secure, sober environment with 24/7 on-site counseling. Families work with a Social Worker to create personalized action plans for addressing specific challenges and achieving goals. This formula empowers struggling Veterans, helping them rediscover purpose and optimism on their path to independent living.
In addition to Missouri Veterans Endeavor, other beneficiaries of the Anders Charity of Choice program have included Lydia’s House, the Child Center, Partners for Pets, the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, Angels Arms, Shriners Hospitals for Children–St. Louis, Stray Rescue of St. Louis and many more.
For our Charity of Choice 2024, we are excited to support Memory Care Home Solutions. As with our support for Missouri Veterans Endeavor, Anders will hold a number of events and fundraisers to raise contributions for the worthy cause.
FEATURED CHARITY OF CHOICE EVENTS
More than 600 staff members, clients and friends of the firm joined together for the 35th annual Hoops for Hope, our yearly March Madness bracket tournament, to support MOVE-STL. Thanks to the generous support of those participants, Anders was able to present Missouri Veterans Endeavor with a $13,010 check.
Anders hosted Bags for Bags, a bags tournament that served as a food drive to benefit MOVE-STL. This event blended the generosity of a holiday meal food drive with the exciting competition of a bags tournament. In total, Bags for Bags supplied meals to feed 120 people.
Throughout the year, Anders team members joined forces for collaborative MOVE-STL Volunteer Days. Demonstrating their commitment, our team generously volunteered a total of 212 hours, focusing on revitalizing communal spaces and enhancing the campus grounds to create an even better living environment for veterans and their families.
The Young Professionals Group organized Christmas in July, a special event designed to fulfill specific needs at MOVE-STL. Our team donated over 500 items, contributing significantly to their daily needs.
SUPPORTING SMALL, LOCAL BUSINESSES
Building value in the communities where we live and work starts with us, which is why Anders was pleased to present our 5th annual Sip, Savor and Shop event. The event, which features a virtual shopping boutique highlighting over 20 retail clients, is a holiday tradition. By supporting our small business community, we believe we’re building lasting ties between our firm and the greater community that benefits when investments are made on the local level.
Because of our efforts in the community, we were named a finalist for the St. Louis Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy & Innovation in Philanthropy Awards in the Midsize Company category for 2023. The award celebrates and recognizes local partnerships for going above and beyond standard philanthropic practices in new and creative ways.
EMPOWERING ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH SPONSORSHIPS
-

In our commitment to making a positive impact on the communities where we live and work, Anders has supported numerous sponsorships, contributing substantial funds to various initiatives. With a total of $395,345 donated to community organizations, we have actively sought opportunities to foster positive change. These sponsorships enable us to assist in addressing community needs, raise awareness for important causes and actively participate in events that promote community well-being. In 2023, Anders was proud to sponsor the 140th Annual America’s Birthday Parade, the Ascension Charity Classic, Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club of St. Louis 31st Annual Golf Classic, the Gateway Children’s Charity Fall Fundraiser, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois 5th Annual United We Lead Gala and many other community-based events.
INVESTING IN DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION
To fully live up to the values we hold at Anders, particularly transparency, collaboration, originality and welcoming, we believe in fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. To do so benefits not only our staff, but also our clients and our community. To allow more opportunities for a more diverse group of people, Anders has continued to expand our efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, including our support for local minority and women-owned organizations via sponsorships and firm-sponsored events. By encouraging diverse ideas, perspectives and values, we allow ourselves to learn, grow and eventually become the change we want to see in the world.
