The Sequester Deadline is Upon Us
As the Sequester Deadline nears later this week, there is little optimism that Congress and the Administration will reach a compromise similar to the deal struck as the new year turned.
There are currently no known negotiations of a serious nature taking place.
How dire the consequences will be is a matter of differing opinions, but it is time for Washington to stop putting off all decisions for a few months or a few years, or the next batch of Washingtonians. The delays impact more than spending. The impact on our country’s economy goes beyond the direct fiscal impact to the harder to define impact of consumer confidence and confidence that our leaders will ultimately get together for the greater good of the country.
