Julia A. Deien, and Jason N. Gotway have been promoted to Principal and Director + Technology, and Nathan P. Stonner, CPA has been promoted to Principal + Tax at Anders, effective January 1, 2022.
While annual employee promotions are announced each June, principal-level promotions are recognized separately in January. Julia, Jason and Nathan have earned their principal titles by going above and beyond to exhibit technical and leadership acumen throughout their careers. Learn more about them below.
About Julia Deien
Julia started her career at the firm in 2006 and has grown into a leadership role in Anders Technology. As a Principal and Director + Technology, Julia leads a team that brings a dynamic technology approach to businesses. With a deep understanding of each client’s business goals and growth objectives, her team aligns their technology strategy to aid in growth. Julia has significant experience in the Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud environments and leads a team of Microsoft Certified engineers that move businesses to more nimble, cloud-based technology solutions. Using her expertise, she consults, designs, and implements solutions, making sure her clients not only adopt the cloud environment but also understand and are trained to maximize its full potential.
Julia is a Microsoft Certified professional and has a B.S. in Computer Management and Information Systems from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. She serves as the treasurer of the International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners, as well as a board member for Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, and also resides on the Advisory Board for the Computer Management and Information Systems department at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.

About Jason Gotway
As a Principal and Director + Technology, Jason has over 15 years of experience at Anders as a solutions architect and team lead helping businesses enhance their technology and cybersecurity strategy. Throughout his career, Jason has focused on finding new strategies, products and methods for keeping clients safe from evolving cybersecurity threats. Always expanding his knowledge of evolving cyber-attacks, Jason frequently speaks and shares his insights, educating companies and individuals of best practices for staying safe in all things cyber and implementing efforts to avoid cybercrime. Jason works with businesses to develop customized cybersecurity strategies to keep their company and employees safe and productive, whether they work in-office or remotely.
Jason holds a B.S. in Computer Management and Information Systems from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and coaches basketball for the Maryville Lions as well as soccer and basketball for Upward at First Baptist Maryville.

About Nathan Stonner
Nathan joined the firm in 2011 as a tax intern and worked his way up the ranks to a Principal + Tax. As a trusted advisor in the Tax department, Nathan works with high net-worth individuals, flow-through entities and business owners on tax planning and advisory at the business and individual levels. His years of family wealth and estate planning experience is a great asset to his clients. Working with the Anders Health Care Group, Nathan also advises many physician-owned health care practices.
Nathan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Missouri and an active member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MOCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He holds a M.S. and a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He was named a 2021 St. Louisian to Know to Succeed in Business by Small Business Monthly and serves on the finance committee of the Missouri Athletic Club.
