As promised, the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has begun its next phase of audits of covered entities and their business associates, to assess compliance with the HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules.
CMS Extends 2015 Meaningful Use Hardship Deadline and Simplifies Application Process
In an attempt to give providers enough flexibility in their applications, along with ample time to submit them to avoid negative Medicare payment adjustments in 2017, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced a simpler application and extended the deadline to July 1, 2016, for eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals.
