YPs Fill Baskets for 2014 Charity of Choice

The Anders Young Professionals (YP) Group spent a recent Friday afternoon at the warehouses of Basket of Hope, Anders’ 2014 Charity of Choice. We filled baskets for their upcoming dinner auction, attached batteries to toys, assembled school supply packs for hospitalized kids and their siblings, moved shelving units, sorted baby blankets, and even vacuumed their office.

The Leading Edge Alliance (LEA) holds an annual LEA YP Volunteer Week for all firms, which is a global event. Member firms are tasked with taking one week out of the year to spend participating in a community or charitable event. With Basket of Hope being Anders’ 2014 Charity of Choice, our selection was clear. We started working with Basket of Hope to find out what they really needed. They stated their biggest need was basket donations for their annual dinner auction in November. So Anders held a donation drive at their office and collected enough items to fill 32 themed baskets for their dinner auction.

While they had extra hands on deck, they also put us to work assembling back to school packs for hospitalized children and their siblings. Basket of Hope delivers these packs themselves to local children’s hospitals.

The Anders YP’s had a great time at Basket of Hope and learning more about their organization and seeing their warehouse full of baskets that eventually go to sick children in the hospital. We were glad to be able to be part of this event and look forward to many more! For more information on Basket of Hope, visit their website.
