The IRS has adjusted dollar limits for employer-sponsored retirement and welfare plans, as well as for individual retirement plans. These adjustments are effective as of January 1, 2019. In addition, the Social Security Administration increased the taxable earnings wage base from $128,400 to $132,900. The following chart compares 2018 and 2019 limits:
